Art of the Streets

My work 'Art of the Streets' uses various materials to encapsulate the life of a person on the streets. Used to help symbolize just how rough sleepers can be just like you or me, a father or sister to someone, who might have experienced a trauma of some sort and can no longer cope with society.

To start with, I use mainly pastels as I feel this resonates to street art produced on the pavements. My use of cardboard enables me to connect with the material most commonly associated as the foundations or 'canvas' of a home on the in Central London and the home counties.

Lastly, the frames of the larger pieces that I make are made of repurposed pallets which I feel is authentic to the life of a rough sleeper and as such, provides the 'structure' of my artwork's home.
